Hello SAMO ;-),
ironmaiden pisze:

Unfortunately I do not know the details, usually they replace some bearings or rolls. My Ignis is not affected by this problem yet, but the seat construction is not rocket science, any garage should manage to fix it.

Ignis is sold without a filter but fortunately is fully prepared for one - jsut need to plug it in.
You can try to get one from Opel Agila, probably also a cabin filter from Opel Corsa would fit but I'm not sure. In Poland a couple of aftermarket filters are available, price is not more than 20EUR. And it's really easy to change it.

Official service can handle only regular maintenance, anything special which is not on their checklist is usually too much for them. ALthough tehre are exceptions, as usual ;-).

Recommended to use the same as before, semi-synthetic 10w40 should be just fine, if you want to invest some more money you can go for full synthetic oil.

Lots of replacement parts available much cheaper than original Suzuki spare parts.
I myself use ATE (Contiteves) discs and pads, but you can also get ones from Bosch, Delphi, Textar, Ferodo, Brembo and other manufacturers.

Hope it helps,

Best Regards,

so.....where to begin?
First of all,i was never happy with gearbox in ignis!
In our forum(slovenian forum suzuki),there was a guy that said:
that he changed in his suzuki swift (m13a)oil i gearbox...and(how can i say)
thake the air out of the clutch(like at brakes)....and now goes smooth as baby butt.
For me i hear for the first time that you need to take the air of of the clutch :szok:
As i know swift and ignis have the wire conected to the clutch, not hydraulic
cylinder!so what kind of story is that????
i changed the oil:
-motul gear 300 75w90(2l) and
-wynns gear oil 125ml(treatmant,aditiv)
No difference, until now that is cold!whaen is cold it goes very hard from 1. to 2.gear.The other shifts goes very unrealible, like something is on the way!almost like a bariel between nutral and gear!
Another thing-changin the gear never goes the same.If for one reason goeas ok,the next thing at the same gear goes like traktor!
question?
-maybe the wire clutch dont do the work?
-different oil?
-something unscrew in the gear box?
-grease the inner gearbox?
what the ignis owners say about there gearbox?
thanks

sounds like a one-off problem, but let me try and translate for others:

Kolega ze Słowenii wymienił olej w skrzyni, bo ciężko mu biegi wchodziły:
- Motul Gear 300 75w90(2l) and Wynns gear oil 125ml (dodatek)
Bez różnicy, ale w niskich temp. trudno mu się zmienia z I na II, a reszta też kiepsko, jakby coś blokowało.

Co moze być przyczyną?
Czy któryś z właścicieli Ignisa ma podobne problemy?

I have never complained the way Ignis gearbox works, except Reverse, what you probably may know - very often declutching is needed.

I do not have any other explanation for your phenomenon as gearbox oil failure.

1. Did you remove completely old oil before you apply new one? I have changed many times gearbox oil in my previous cars and never mixed different oil types as they may interfere in bad way resulting foam building.

2. Where did you get this oil? Oil gets also old and it should be stored in certain conditions to avoid lost of its properties.

3. Why did you put this additive? Does oil manufacturer specify what kind of additives you may mix with oil?

Some time ago I decided not to save money on oils, fuel and spare parts (not always original is best) so my suggestion is - take oil from one of world best manufacturers.

Hi,

To be honest, i'm contrary to use of every descrition "treatments and aditivs". Reading your post i can suppose that the aditiv you used firstly thickened the oil. Probably you won't see any other miraculous effects of this treatment. When the temparature went down the gearbox oil thickened more and ... you better knew what was happened.
My piece of advise is to change the oil (like Sebastian said) and never use any of aditivs. Everybody knows that the gearbox in Ignis works like in hiking boots and we have to used to this.
So, change the oil, and try to observe the symptoms. If the problems with changing 1-2 gear went away, leave it. Nobody is perfect, even such beautiful, powerful and fantastic car like Ignis is :D :D :D .

The only thing you can do, is to avoid to drive uphill with low rpm on the high gear. This really overload the gearbox and in the future can cause a big problems (i know this from one of the Suzuki Poland engineers).

Chin up, and if you will have more question don't hesitate to ask.

Regards

hello!
Yesterday was quite warm(12c)and ther was no problem with the gearbox...
So i blame the aditiv too.Tomorrow i am going to buy new oil!
The oil i was using before was motul gear 300,very good oil and expensive(24eur-1l),but i supose ,i did an error with aditiv!
The oil must be 75w90 gl5!
what kind of oil(brands)the users of this forum uses!
I saw agip rotra sx!what do you think?
In servise manuel i saw, that oil changes evey 45000km?
...that is all for now...by
